Hop Aboard!
Hop on the book bus, leaving promptly at 10:45am! The Bookmark will be available for you to shop for new releases and bookish merchandise upon your arrival, and we’ll be returning here at the end of our tour for you to grab lunch or share a drink with your new book besties!

Take your time in Fountain Bookstore: an independent, general, full-service bookstore with more author programming than any other entity in Virginia!

Shelf Life Books
Our friends are opening the doors for our passengers to take a look around the largest independent bookstore in Richmond, VA! They offer a unique collection of both new and used books. Make sure to say hi to Page and Mylar, the bookish feline queens of Shelf Life Books!

While their specialty is children’s books, they feature books for the entire family, from wee ones to adults. They focus on those particular titles which prompt us to look at the world a little longer, a little closer, and a little differently.

We’re providing water and small snacks, but please bring any extra snacks or water you may want. You’ll also get a small tote bag when you arrive, but we suggest bringing another bag if you plan on purchasing a lot of items on the tour. (There will be room to store them on the bus, which will be locked while you’re out shopping.)

We’ve selected local independent bookstores in Richmond that each have a unique offering. While you may find the same books at a few of the stores, we’ve done our best to curate an eclectic mix of stores that offer used, rare, antique, and new books for you to shop for on our tour!

Alcohol, weapons, and pets will not be allowed on the bus.

Unfortunately, our bus is not wheelchair accessible. We understand how frustrating this is, and want to be able to include everyone. Please email us if you need wheelchair access so we can provide you with accommodations.
Service animals are allowed, but contact us before booking so we can ensure we have everything in place for you on the bus and at each stop on the tour!
